Konstantinos P. Triantis
John Lawrence Professor
Kostas Triantis received his BS and MS in Industrial and Management Engineering and M.Phil.
and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research form Columbia University. He is
currently Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), Adjunct Professor of Civil and
Environmental Engineering, the Director of the System Performance Laboratory (SPL), and
serves as the Program Director of the Industrial and Systems Engineering program in Northern
Virginia. His teaching and research interests cover the areas of strategic performance
measurement and evaluation, data envelopment analysis, and the design of complex socio-
technical systems. His research has been published in a number of journals including
Management Science, Technometrics, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management,
Transportation Research, Quality Management, Annals of Operations Research, and Journal of
Productivity Analysis, among others. He has received research funding from a number of
organizations that include the National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Research, American
Red Cross, and U.S. Department of Navy, among others.

Director, Masters of Engineering Administration Program
Dr. Godfrey has 20+ years of experience applying machine learning in direct marketing, as well as developing and apply software in Computational Social Choice. Dr. Godfrey is currently Director of the Masters of Engineering Management and Administration program under the Grado Department of Industrial and System Engineering. Dr. Godfrey's research interests concern the automation of machine learning for marketing, developing data-driven systems dynamics models of the business cycle, aspiration models of social choice, mechanism design, and measurement theory.

Mohammed Ba-Aoum is a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech (VT). His research is at the forefront of the intersection between data science and sociotechnical systems, using dynamic modeling to inform decision-making and develop data-driven policies. He research interest is in utilizing cutting-edge techniques such as system dynamics modeling, data envelopment analysis, and data and machine learning to model behavior, evaluate performance, and design complex sociotechnical systems. Mohammed serves as a fellow in the Global Engineering Academy at VT and a senior fellow in Engineering for Change. In these roles, he contributes to projects that bridge engineering and global development. Before joining VT, Mohammed worked as a lecturer in Industrial and Systems Engineering at King Fahd University as well as an engineer at ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia.

Rocio Ulunque is a production engineer and a master’s student in Management Systems Engineering. She has work experience in quality control, occupational safety, and environment in the manufacturing industry. Her research interests rely on systems design, improvement, and management in order to make systems more efficient with the guarantee of quality and safety. Currently, her research explores operating rooms as socio-technical systems, considering the human-technology interactions and the trade-offs between safety and efficiency.
